Victoria Memorial London 342 Acrylic on Stretched 3D Canvas 24cm x 30cm x 3cm (9.5 inches x 12 inches x 1 inches)

This little, cute study painted was painted many years ago when I would go and paint and sketch famous landmarks in London as a student and for practice.

Buckingham Palace was not as busy as it is today except in the summer when it was always hard to find a spot out the way to paint and usually with my back to the wall to stop tourist coming up behind and taking photos or even pushing me to get a better view.

The style is modern quick and Setchey which I like a lot as it captures something more true to live thane any finished work would be. The reddish orange building was in shadow, which is why I added highlight to the fountain to help it stand out and add shine, giving tit s solid foundation and feel of light and shine on the gold.

Unlike the Eros painting, I did learn and move the statue into the sky blue background. Small clouds were added which were not there to add yellow ochre and contrast. Sides are painted.

Every Artist should paint their wonderful and perfect monuments in and around London there are hundreds to choice and best of all they don't move and have perfect bright light to paint with.
